3-days on-line training course. This course is the first of a 2-level series, presents the fundamentals of GIS in general perspective. This course will introduce the participants to the state-of-the-art concepts and practices of GIS. It starts with the basics of GIS and subsequently methods and analysis using GIS analysis tools will be covered. This course is designed to give comprehensive understanding on the application of GIS in solving the research problems. Each concept is demonstrated, and participants are given hands-on exercises to apply what they have learned. Upon completion, the participants should be able to use GIS in their future research work.
