The course contributes to creating capacities to preserve, monitor, and clean up available water resources, which is in line with SDG 6 of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. With an integrated water resource management approach, the training course addresses aspects of water quality and quantity.
The course is built around a solid understanding of the hydrological cycle. This covers both natural and man-made processes. Furthermore, the course emphasizes integrated, inter-sectoral approaches to water resource sustainability. On themes such as the water cycle, urban water (water infrastructure, wastewater treatment), integrated water resource management and climate change, and monitoring systems, the course curriculum includes lectures, specialist visits, and excursions. Participants should be able to actively contribute to the protection and improvement of water resources in their native countries after completing the short course. |
